Compass has created a Rotary Steerable System (RSS) with infinite possibilities, built to cut operational costs by 50% over existing RSS technology.
With a goal to provide global customers a directional system that is easy to use, high performance, cost effective and reliable; Compass has taken decades of industry best practices to create a flexible and modular system that can run in any combination of MWD, mud-motor or LWD from compatible brands. Its short length makes it perfect RSS combination with an MWD below a mud motor to increase RPM and ROP.

Use Infinity to drill vertical and create your curve with a maximum build rate of 20° / 100’. Infinity RSS provides continuous at bit inclination monitoring and optional near-bit azimuthal GR with a high speed MWD data rate. Drill verticals, curves and horizontals in one run. And, due to Infinity’s 5.5’ length you have greater agility, and what’s more, you can receive better geo-feedback from resistivity modules that sit closer to the bit for greater control.
Infinity RSS may be operated in self-drive mode or may integrate with supported MWD/LWD tools. It includes its own downlink and does not rely on other tools for downlink in self-drive mode.

In addition, Infinity RSS is integrated with Compass MWD tools and may integrate with other MWD systems as it is built to be non-proprietary with standard architecture. In the ‘integrated mode’ a signal is sent to the above tool, which then relates it to the surface offering the current status of the tool, confirmation of command received, and continuous azimuth and inclination. And, of course, we built it to work with any existing remote operation while fitting into your existing data infrastructure.
